This course is designed for inspectors, operators, signalers, and riggers responsible for the safe operation and rigging of all types of overhead and mobile cranes, hoists, and lifting devices used in General, Construction, and Maritime Industries.

This course is conducted at your facility and can be adapted to your designed material handling needs. 

This course includes both classroom and hands-on training. Once the written examination is completed, hands-on exercises will be conducted to ensure proper sling and rigging inspection procedures are followed. 

Standard course length is 6-8 hours.

Classroom Training Topics Covered:

  • OSHA, ASME, CMAA, HMI, NEC Codes, Standards and Regulations
  • Sling Inspection Procedures/Care & Maintenance
  • Sling Required Documentation
  • Marking, Construction, and Installation
  • Proper installation of attachments, hooks, and slings
  • Shock loading, unbalanced loading, overloading
  • Rigging hardware and Below the Hook Devices

 

 Each student will receive a Handbook that includes:

  • Sling & Rigging Gear Inspection Manual
  • OSHA & ASME Standards 
  • Sample Inspection Forms
  • Recommended Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Sling and Rigging reference cards

Note: Students will receive a Training Certificate and Wallet Card upon completion & review of test.
