This course is designed for operators, signalers, and riggers responsible for the safe operation and rigging of all types of overhead, mobile and tower cranes, hoists, and lifting devices used in General, Construction, and Maritime Industries.

This course is conducted at your facility and can be adapted to your designed material handling needs. This course includes both classroom and hands-on training. Once the written examination is completed, hands-on exercises will be conducted to ensure proper rigging procedures are followed.

Standard course length is 8 hours.

OSHA / ASME Standards & Interpretations
Rigging Hardware and Gear Selection
Sling Identification & Rigging Hardware Inspection Criteria
Weight Calculating Formulas
Center of Gravity; Load Balancing, Effects of Angle on Rated Loads
Load Calculation, Reduced Capacity & Increased Tension
Wire Rope and End Fittings
Knot Tying practices
Lift Determinations / Formulating a Lift Plan
Communication Methods/Hand Signals
Below the Hook Device Criteria

Each student will receive a Handbook that includes:

Sample Inspection Forms
Recommended Preventative Maintenance Program

Note: Students will receive a Training Certificate and Wallet Card upon completion & review of test.
