This one-day class is designed for personnel responsible for performing frequent (monthly) inspection of their cranes and hoists.  Students will learn how to conduct and document these inspections in compliance with OSHA Regulations and ASME Standards.  Training is a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on inspection to ensure maximum learning benefit is achieved.

 

Standard course length is 8 hours.

  • Daily Operator Checklist
  • Frequent Inspection Classification
  • Wire rope, Chain, Hooks, and Sheaves

  • Brakes
  • Do’s & Don’ts
  • Discussion of Damaged Items
  • Required Documentation 
  • Sling Required Documentation
  • Sling – Inspection, Maintenance, and Selection
  • Below the Hook Criteria
  • Load/Proof Testing

 

Each student will receive a Handbook that includes:

  • Code of Federal Regulations
  • Rigging Manual/Charts
  • Operator & Inspection Checklist Forms
  • Recommended Preventative Maintenance Program

Note: Students will receive a Training Certificate and wallet card upon completion & review of test.
