This course will help individuals learn the basics of Overhead Cranes and Hoists as well as the requirements needed for safe operation. Crane and Hoist Operators will benefit most from this training.

This course is conducted at your facility and can be adapted to your designed material handling needs. 

This course includes both classroom and hands-on training to ensure students acquire the required training as per OSHA and ASME.

Standard course length is 6-8 hours.

  • Crane & Hoist Terminology and Definitions
  • OSHA, CMAA, and ASME Standards and Regulations
  • Do’s & Don’ts for Cranes & Hoists
  • OSHA Required Inspections
  • Record-Keeping Requirements & Regulations
  • Daily Operator Checklist
  • Discussion of Damaged Items
  • Rigging and Crane Signals
  • Effects of Angle on rated loads
  • Sling Inspection Procedures/Care & Maintenance
  • Sling Required Documentation
  • Questions & Answers
  • Written Test

 

Each student will receive a Handbook that includes:

  • Crane Operator Manual
  • Rigging Manual/Charts
  • Daily Operator Checklist Forms
  • Crane Signals
  • Sling Card
  • Recommended Preventative Maintenance Program

Note: Students will receive a Training Certificate upon completion & review of test.
